Rather than one narrow tool, the site combines three focused calculators — a snow day odds estimator, a snowfall unit and water-equivalent converter, and a roof snow load checker — each calibrated to reflect real regional differences across U.S. states and climate zones, since a snowfall total means something very different in Minnesota than it does in Georgia.
The snow day estimator uses regional closure thresholds drawn from well-documented patterns in how different climate zones respond to snowfall, combined with forecast temperature and storm timing. The snowfall converter uses standard snow-density ranges to translate raw depth into liquid water equivalent. The roof load calculator applies commonly used snow-density-to-weight conversions alongside regional building code ground snow load values.
